Work Conditioning Treatment

Rehab One Physiotherapy provides a variety of active recovery programs specifically for injured workers. These work related activity and functional restoration programs (work conditioning) are delivered in close liaison with employers, doctors, rehabilitation providers and insurers.

Activity treatment is delivered and is aligned with the publication “Improving Outcomes: Integrated, active management of workers with soft tissue injury" released by WorkCover, May 2008.

Work Related Activity Treatment (Work Conditioning)

Rehab One Physiotherapy exclusively uses physiotherapists to prescribe, supervise and upgrade work related activities. Our physiotherapists also understand that communication with key parties is critical for good recovery and a fast return to work and the worker is central to decision making.

Rehab One physiotherapy can provide work related activity treatment and programs at any stage of the worker’s recovery.

Indicators for work conditioning:

Insufficient suitable duties at the workplace to meet the worker’s total activity needs through the return to work plan.
Worker’s injury has been appropriately assessed and managed in the acute period.
Worker’s injury is now in the sub-acute phase (4-12 weeks post injury) and they are not working pre injury duties and hours.
Worker has yellow flags/psychosocial barriers and/or delayed recovery.
Activity levels are not progressing and/or fluctuate widely
