Psychology and Pain Management
Psychology
Rehab One’s psychologists have expertise in work-related injuries, pain management and cognitive behavioural therapy.
Rehab One can provide a combined physiotherapy and psychology approach to pain management in order to achieve return to work and upgrade outcomes and minimize the impact of psychosocial barriers (yellow flags) that can contribute to a delayed return to work.
The Rehab One psychologist can also treat those injured workers who demonstrate changes in behaviour and mood such as anxiety, depression and fear avoidance associated with upgrading at work or re-injury, or the worker’s inability to manage their pain.
Our psychologists can also assess and treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) associated with a work injury.
Pain Management - A Multidisciplinary Approach
Rehab One can provide a combined physiotherapy and psychology approach to pain management in order to achieve return to work and upgrade outcomes.
This integrated service is designed to target and treat both the physical and psychosocial barriers that contribute to a delayed return to work. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that those workers with greater psychosocial (yellow flags) receive a higher level of psychological intervention, whereas those with extensive physical limitations receive more physiotherapy treatment.
