Non-English Speaking Background (NESB)

To cater for the cultural and linguistic diversity that exists in our working community, Rehab One offers tailored evidence based work related treatment for workers from a non-English speaking background (NESB).

Special Rehab One services include:

  1. Rehab One NESB initial assessments include gathering critical cultural information such as family roles, beliefs related to pain and remedies and other factors that may present as barriers when upgrading or returning to work.
  2. All documentation including “yellow flag” questionnaires (eg OMPQ), forms, self management work books and correspondence has been translated into 5 languages (Arabic, Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish and Vietnamese).
  3. Rehab One uses experienced interpreters from a wide range of cultural and language backgrounds. Interpreters are briefed prior to each session to assist with successful treatment delivery.
  4. To refer a non-English speaking injured worker to Rehab One, use our standard referral form which allows you to identify the need for an interpreter and select the language. With this information Rehab One will organize and coordinate our NESB treatment and assessment services.
